Food Truck Fridays and Saturdays

Fridays and Saturdays take on a party atmosphere as a diverse selection of food trucks roll into town from 5-9 p.m. in Founder’s Square. On Fridays, the fun is amped up with live bands in the bandshell. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy tasty treats, marvelous music and the good company of family and friends.

Babcock Bandstand

Get your dancing shoes on as Babcock Bandstand heats up Friday nights with live music from 6-8 p.m. in Founder’s Square. Coming up: Punta Gorda Symphony holiday performance, Dec. 16; Punta Gorda Symphony String Quartet, Jan. 6; the Swingin’ Clique, Jan. 13; Tiger Blue, Jan. 20; the Sauce, Jan. 27; Punta Gorda Symphony, Feb. 3; Stolen Fruit, Feb. 10; Thunder Beach Band, Feb. 17; and the Lineup Band, Feb. 24.

Square Scoops Ice Cream Cart

Every Saturday and Sunday from noon-4 p.m., the Square Scoops ice cream cart begins its trek at Cypress Lodge before touring residential communities, kid hangouts and business areas around town. Listen for the clarion call to enjoy your favorite frozen treats and cold beverages.

 

 

Happypy Houro at SSlater’se s

Slater’ser’s Goods & Provisions Founder’sder’s Square offers happyy hour specialsals from 4-7 p.m. seven days a week, featuring fea-

$3 margaritas, pina coladas, strawberry strawdaiquiris daiquiris and specialtyalty punches, as welll as $4 Crown Royal, Zing Zang and Ketel One branded drinks. On Fridays, Slater’s sets up an outside bar to complement the bandstand music and food trucks.

Entertainment at Pi Local

Transforming the beloved pizzeria into a social and fun hangout, Pi Local, in Crescent B Commons, hosts free pop-culture trivia nights from 6:30-8:30 p.m. TuesdaysTuesdays, bingo from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and live music from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Fridays.

 

 

Holiday Family Movie Night

Join your neighbors on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Field House for a holiday d themed movie night, featuring popcorn, co hot chocolate and a cash bar. AdmissionAd is free.

Exercise Classes at Cypress Lodge

Staying in good shape is easy, thanks to free aqua aerobics classes led by a Lee Health instructor from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the Cypress Lodge pool.

Babcock Ranch Cleanup Crew

Volunteers are invited to help keep the community pristine in this team-building activity from 8 a.m. until the job is done, every third Saturday of the month (Dec. 17, Jan. 21 and Feb. 18). The group meets in Founder’s Square, where participants will be equipped with garbage bags and gloves and given instructions.

SugarSuga Cookie Decorating

JoinJoi your neighbors, bring the kids, it’s time to decorate holiday cookies — and eat themt — on Dec. 14 from 5-7 p.m. at CypressCy Lodge. The $10 fee includes cookiescook and decorating supplies.

Bike Medic

RepairRe guru Steve Oliveri will be in Founder’sFoun Square Dec. 16 and Jan. 13 to fix and maintain bikes that need a little TLC. Online appointments may be made at tinyurl.com/bikemedicBR. Residents are asked to drop off their bicycles at 9 a.m., and they will be contacted when bikes are ready for pickup. Cost varies, depending on what needs to be done.

Holiday Golf Cart Parade

It’s that time of the year when Babcock Ranch becomes a Hallmark card, as residents deck their golf carts with yuletide flair and drive around town on Dec. 17 from 6-7 p.m. The parade starts and ends at the Field House. Admission is free.

Ornament Craft Night

Add meaningg and memorieses to the holidayss by learning to make your own dazzling ornaments on Dec. 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Cypress Lodge. The cost is $10.

Holiday Scavenger Hunt

This is a free, fun night for all ages, as participants are invited to search for holiday themed goodies, thingamajigs and whatchamacallits on Dec. 22 from 5-7 p.m. at Cypress Lodge.

Cocktails and Canvas

Creativity and community abound at this fun and artistic party on Jan. 12 from 5-8 p.m. at Cypress Lodge. Participants will learn painting tricks from local instructor Linda Lucas while sipping cocktails. The $40 per-person fee includes two drinks, painting supplies and light snacks.

S’mores Night

Few things are more wholesome (and scrumptious) than sitting around a communal fire and making s’mores — that perfectly rustic dessert made with toasted marshmallow and chocolate bar sandwiched between two graham crackers. Share this memory-making experience with new and old friends on Jan. 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Cypress Lodge. Admission is free.

Mommy and Me Painting Classes

Bring the little ones for a delightful afternoon of creativity led by a fun-loving painting instructor. Two sessions will be offered from 1-2 p.m. and from 3-5 p.m. on Jan. 15 at Cypress Lodge. Painting supplies will be provided. Cost and other details to be announced.

Prosecco at the Pier

Enjoy goodood company and lively conversation conver- whileile sipping a beverage on Jan. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at Cypress Lodge. The $8 per-er-person cost includes two glasses of Prosecco, wine or beer, plusus light appetizers. Cash bar available.

Join your neighbors bors for an authentic

Spanish fiesta that includes paella (a rice dish from Valencia) and twotw glasses of sangria on Feb. 3 from 5-7 p.m. at CypresCypress Lodge. The per-person cost is $25. Cash bar available.

Trails Day

The spectacular and vast trails available at Babcock Ranch are cause for celebration, and on Feb. 11 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. residents are invited to step out into the idyllic Florida sunshine and walk the trails together. Meeting place to be announced. This is a free event.

Mixology Class

In this hands-on course on Feb. 11 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Cypress Lodge, participants will learn how to make three different cocktails and the story behind each one of them, as well as basic bartending techniques from a master mixologist. Cost is $50 per person.

Valentine’s Date Night

Treat your honey to a romantic, candlelit dinner on Feb. 14 from 6-8 p.m. The $30 per-person cost includes a salad, bread, entree, dessert and one alcoholic beverage. Location to be announced. Cash bar available.

Founder’s Square turns into a super-fun New Orleans carnival on Feb. 21 from 6-7 p.m. Golf cart owners are encouraged encour- to decorate their vehicles in purple, gold and green for this free and festive Mardi Gras Golf Cart Parade. Don’t forget your colorful beads and bling!

Scavenger Hunt

Some things are “lost,” and you’re invited to find them on Feb. 25 from 3-5 p.m. at Cypress Lodge. More details to come forf this entertaining, free evente for kids and adults.
